Only Antwerp is a true diamond city—but Amsterdam is also a real gem. Where else do you, as a visitor, immediately feel at home? Where else do you stumble upon something quirky and charming around every corner? The ringing of bicycle bells mingles here with music wafting from open windows—and guests from the A-ROSA ship naturally join in the locals’ lives in pubs and restaurants.

And between the towns? The wind blows in your face, bringing an indescribable sense of freedom. This makes it all the more beautiful to see the ancient Dutch fishing villages with their picturesque stepped gables and colorful fishing boats.

BASIC - A North Rhine Experience 2026 (AQUA)

All cruises are international, meaning that all materials—such as the menu, shipboard announcements, etc.—are in English. Similarly, shore excursions are available with English-speaking guides, and the crew on board speaks English (and usually German as well).

Antwerp - when your Rhine cruise arrives in Antwerp, you’ll quickly discover that this Flemish port exudes a festive splendor. No wonder—it is here that diamonds have become the city’s symbol. Antwerp is one of the world’s most important centers for the gemstone trade, and their brilliance is literally born here through cutting and polishing. Antwerp itself, however, is also a gem: from the ship’s deck, you’ll enjoy a magnificent view of a row of stately houses with ornate stepped gables.

Cologne - offers many attractions, but the famous cathedral dominates everything. With a length of 144.5 meters and a height of 157.38 meters, it is one of the tallest church buildings in the world. It’s worth climbing the 533 steps of the south tower, which offers a breathtaking view of the city, the Rhine, and the surrounding area. Also worth seeing is St. Martin’s Basilica—and right in front of it, the colorful houses on the ancient fish market, which literally shine. This corner of the city, tucked away from the main hustle and bustle, has its own unique charm. During Carnival, Cologne comes alive with the song “Das Herz der Welt, das schlägt am Rhein” (“The Heart of the World Beats on the Rhine”)—and after meeting the locals, you’ll surely agree with this saying.

Rotterdam – the second-largest city in the Netherlands. Home to the continent’s largest seaport, it is a thriving metropolis that is not short on modern buildings or international charm. Over the past 20 years, a number of impressive new skyscrapers have sprung up here – and there is no sign that this trend is about to stop.
