BASIC - Charming Christmas Markets on the Main River (CLEA)

This Advent cruise along the Danube and Main offers a magical opportunity to experience the festive atmosphere in historic cities. We begin in medieval Nuremberg, where the famous Christkindlesmarkt has bathed the old town in a magical glow. Stroll among the decorated stalls and enjoy mulled wine—and of course, don’t miss the gingerbread. The cruise continues to Regensburg, where the romantic Christmas market at Thurn & Taxis Castle enchants visitors with its medieval streets and the illuminated old town. On the way to Kulheim, you can enjoy the picturesque landscape along the Danube. In Kulheim, we’ll immerse ourselves in the pre-Christmas atmosphere of the Christmas market and savor local specialties.

All cruises are international, meaning that all materials—such as menus, public announcements, etc.—are in English. Similarly, excursions are available with English-speaking guides, and the onboard staff speaks English (and usually German as well).

Stroll through the streets of the old town and, at Christmas, soak up the festive atmosphere at Neupfarrplatz, where the air is filled with the scent of mulled wine and roasted almonds. The imposing cathedral and historic town hall with its magnificent carillon shine especially brightly at Christmas!

 

Kelheim - is a city with an abundance of sights and an idyllic atmosphere. Here you can explore the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings, starting with the Danube Gorge, where the massive rocks of the Weltenburg Mountains tower over the river, providing a spectacular backdrop. Visit the Kelheim Liberation Hall, a monumental building on Michelsberg that commemorates the wars against Napoleon and offers a breathtaking view of the city and the Danube Valley
