The further south you go, the more dazzling and relaxed Provence will dazzle you, with its picturesque light, joie de vivre and the natural paradise of the Camargue. Charming Avignon, with its imposing papal palace and picturesque old town, and Lyon - known for its delicious cuisine and rich history - are just some of the highlights of the cruise. A cruise through this diverse landscape along the Rhone is probably the most relaxing way to enjoy southern France.
All cruises are international, meaning that all materials such as the ship's newspaper, menus, radio announcements, etc. are in English. Likewise, excursions are available with English-speaking guides, and the on-board staff speaks English (usually German as well).
Every wonderful cruise on the Rhone starts in Lyon - and for good reason: Lyon is a beautiful, modern city with an impressive old town and top-notch cuisine. Lyon owes its great culinary reputation in part to award-winning French chef Paul Bocuse, who chose it as the headquarters of his empire of brasseries, restaurants and cafés. The city is renowned for its simple yet high-quality cuisine based on regional produce, which has given the city its nickname la ville de gueule ('the city of taste').
Provence - savoir-vivre means 'to know how to live'. And living well is something the people of Provence know very well. Surrounded by towering olive trees, lilac lavender fields and vineyards that produce the finest red wines, it is a place to relax and enjoy life. In the summer, you can watch some of the local farmers harvesting their fruit - and perhaps put your own hand to work. You might even be rewarded with a glass of local wine or a dish of bouillabaisse. Other regional specialities include white nougat from Montélimar, candied fruit from Apt and the famous truffles from the Vaucluse mountains. Provence is a place where pleasure comes first.
Avignon - you've probably heard of the famous bridge in the song "Sur le pont d'Avignon". This bridge actually exists, or at least part of it: wars and floods have reduced the original 22 arches of the bridge to 4. In 1660, after another flood, the bridge was abandoned. Apart from the bridge, it is probably the palaces, the wines and the culture that will excite you most in Avignon. The Papal Palace is monumentally impressive, especially in the evening when it is illuminated by a light show.

We will be happy to reserve a space for you to park your car at the Parkhaus Park Berthelot. The maximum dimensions of the car are 5.10 m x 1.90 m. A reservation in advance is required. You will receive exact maps in the pre-departure information.
