The Belgian Diamond Exchange, Beurs voor Diamanthandel, has north-facing windows because minimizing sunlight is crucial when evaluating the color and clarity of gemstones. Antwerp is a historic city known for its diamond trade, but it also has its practical side, most notably the city’s most famous French fry shop, Frituur N1, where Maria subjects truly excellent fries to a double-frying process. Among Amsterdam’s gems are its diverse array of museums, sparkling canals, and above all, a relaxed multicultural society where every visitor immediately feels at home.

BASIC - Metropolis of the Rhine (AQUA)

All cruises are international, meaning that all materials—such as the menu, public announcements, etc.—are in English. Similarly, excursions are available with English-speaking guides, and the crew on board speaks English (and usually German as well).

Amsterdam - The Dutch capital offers visitors on this cruise a wealth of contrasts, often due to the fact that it has long been a city of immigrants—from other EU countries, but also from Morocco, Turkey, and Central Africa. Over the years, these newcomers have brought their ideas and customs, creating a true melting pot of cultures. But the city itself is also full of contrasts: magnificent historic buildings stand alongside new structures, the traditional Lower City differs from the elegant Upper City, and superb museums meet experimental projects in abandoned factory complexes.

Antwerp - When your cruise stops in Antwerp, you’ll immediately realize that this small Flemish port is no stranger to festive sparkle. In fact, sparkle was literally invented right here: this traditional trading city is a major diamond hub, where precious stones are polished until they shine like stars in the sky. Antwerp itself is also a gem—from the ship, you’ll enjoy a magnificent view of its stately houses with ornate gables.

Düsseldorf - Düsseldorf’s historic center is also known as “the world’s longest bar.” Fresh Altbier is served in over 300 pubs. Luxurious boulevards like the “Kö” invite you to take a stroll, while green parks and the beautiful Rhine promenade invite you to relax. If only there weren’t so many museums here!

Itinerary

Day Place Arrival Departure
1 Cologne - 17:00
Welcome to Cologne! The typical friendliness that you find at every turn makes visitors feel at home right away. It’s not unusual to quickly get chatting to strangers and even go for a couple of glasses of Kölsch with them. The main landmark – Cologne Cathedral – watches over the whole city. It is the third-tallest church building in the world, at 157.38 metres. It might be a bit of a trek up to the top of the tower, but it’s worth it. You’ll be rewarded with an unforgettable view of the city and the Rhine spread out before you.
2 Willemstad 11:00 22:00
The former Dutch fortress of Willemstad is a tranquil little village with a delightful harbor. And of course, a typical dutch town like this can't lack a windmill! During a walk through the quiet town you will surely discover one.
3 Antwerp 07:00 18:00
The port city of Antwerp is an absolute must-see. Rich in art and culture, it is also known as the ‘Diamond City’ due to its important role in the diamond trade. Antwerp is particularly enjoyable for foodies, thanks to the many tasty Belgian specialities on offer there – including waffles, chocolates and chips.
4 Amsterdam (Lelystad*) 12:00 18:00
Few European cities are as diverse as Amsterdam, with its multicultural charm, relaxed atmosphere, historic canal district and the highest concentration of museums in the world. Don’t miss the Van Gogh Museum or the Rijksmuseum, which was restored to its former glory several years ago following a decade-long renovation project. Follow the locals’ example and explore by bike or take a trip along the canals and discover Amsterdam from the water.  *In individual cases, the local authorities in Amsterdam may not confirm the reserved berths. If no berth is allocated, our guests will be provided with a shuttle bus to Amsterdam.
5 Düsseldorf 14:30 23:00
Whether you’re strolling along one of Germany’s leading luxury shopping streets, the ‘Kö’, enjoying an Altbier fresh from the tap in one of the old town’s more than 300 pubs or discovering one of the city’s many green spaces, Düsseldorf has almost everything you could wish for. Most of the city’s population seems to frequent the Uerige – the archetypical Düsseldorf brewery – even though the name of the establishment comes from a local word for ‘grumpy’. The Köbesse – as waiting staff are known here – are rather unfriendly, in keeping with tradition.
6 Cologne 06:00 -
