A short trip that will linger long in your heart and mind. At the Schlögener Loop, the Danube makes two spectacular turns before choosing the most beautiful route to Vienna: through the narrow Wachau Valley, where castle ruins and sugar-cube monasteries peek out from terraced vineyards and orchards. This area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is home to excellent wines and enchanting beauty. In Vienna itself, you’ll be spoiled for choice with cultural experiences, historical sights, and exquisite cuisine.
All cruises are international, meaning that all materials—such as menus, announcements, etc.—are in English. Similarly, tours are available with English-speaking guides, and the crew on board speaks English (and usually German as well).
Wachau - About 80 km west of Vienna lies the Wachau, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This valley is lined with steep slopes where some of Europe’s finest grape varieties grow. Amidst this scenery, you’ll pass castles, palaces, and romantic ruins that bear witness to a distant past. In such an enchanting landscape, it’s no wonder that there are many legends about the Wachau, ranging from mythical tales to historical events, including the Napoleonic Wars. Authors such as Josef Wichner and Hans Plöckinger have published collections of these legends—the perfect reading material for a visit to the region.
Vienna—the true highlight of your Danube cruise. Thanks to its many museums, galleries, palaces, and castles, the State Opera, and numerous theaters, the city enjoys a vibrant cultural scene all year round.
Linz – Baroque facades, numerous churches, and a river running through the center. As you can see, Linz, Austria’s largest port city, can be described in a single sentence. But that would be unfair, because Linz offers much more than just a river and buildings. In recent years, this former industrial hub has transformed into a European cultural stronghold. Whether it’s theater, cinema, art, or music, there is a high demand for culture. The city also offers magnificent views—especially in the evening—from the pilgrimage church on Pöstlingberg Hill.

We recommend that clients park directly in Passau. Clients can make their own parking reservations, or we’ll be happy to assist them with the reservation free of charge. Reservations are made through Globus Parkhaus. You can make a reservation online at www.globus-group.de. Payment is made on-site in cash or by EC card. The price includes a bus transfer to and from the ship, including luggage.
We recommend booking parking well in advance.

A-ROSA BASIC Full Board is available only on select cruises with limited availability. Your cabin number will be assigned to you on board.
Suites, special A-ROSA cruise offers, A-ROSA packages, and other benefits such as early booking discounts or children traveling free of charge are not available for the BASIC fare.
This fare does not include 100% discounts for children under 15, early booking discounts, the option of a single cabin, or the ability to select a cabin category or number.
