People have celebrated the Danube in songs, dedicated poems to it and written fairy tales about it. This trip will allow you to take home European history not only as a storehouse of knowledge, but also as a sincere meaning of life. Vienna and Budapest, the former capitals of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, are literally bursting with breathtaking Baroque architecture and the best of Hungarian Art Nouveau. And even though they are surrounded by all this old splendor, both cities seem to be getting younger and more dynamic. Nonconformists will be thrilled to visit the confident Slovak capital Bratislava. While you are there, don’t forget to order Bryndza dumplings! Both cities are simply fantastic to experience, especially in the winter.

PREMIUM - Austrian part of the Danube & Bratislava (FLORA)

All cruises are international, meaning that all materials such as menus, radio announcements, etc. are in English. Likewise, the excursions are available with English-speaking guides and the staff on board speaks English (mostly also German).

Vienna - the highlight of this cruise. Thanks to its many museums, galleries, palaces and castles, the state opera and many theaters, the city enjoys a lively cultural scene all year round.

Bratislava - right on the border with Austria and Hungary, on the southwestern border of Slovakia, lies the city of Bratislava, the largest city in the country. Traces of the Austro-Hungarian dual monarchy are everywhere here. Peaceful life between Baroque and Rococo, palaces, palisades, art and cafes.

Linz - Baroque facades, numerous churches and a river in the middle. As you can see, Linz, Austria's largest port city, can be described in one sentence. But that would be unfair, because Linz has much more to offer - in recent years, this former industrial center has transformed into a European cultural stronghold. Whether it's theater, cinema, art or music, culture is evident at every turn. The city also offers beautiful views - especially in the evening - from the pilgrimage church on the Pöstlingberg hill.

Itinerary

Day Place Arrival Departure
1 Passau - 16:00
Passau, also known as the ‘city of three rivers’, is picturesquely situated at the point where the Danube, Inn and Ilz rivers meet in Bavaria. You should definitely try the regional cuisine in Passau. The highlights include local specialities such as ‘Dreiflüsseforelle’ (three-river trout) and sweet treats such as ‘Dreiflüsseschnitte’ (three-river cake)
2 Wachau - -
The Ijsselmeer is an inland lake that was created by diking the Wadden Sea and the Zuiderzee bay. This is where you’ll find the lovely little town of Hoorn – make sure you explore it during your cruise along the northern Rhine.
2 Vienna 14:00 23:59
Vienna has a rich history, with its emperors, Elisabeth of Austria and the ostentatious Habsburgs, adding to its fascination. Music also plays a big part of any visit where the First Viennese School of composers Mozart, Haydn, and Beethoven were equally inspired by the city. Explore The Hofburg Palace, take a ride on the Riesenrad Ferris Wheel or visit the famous traditional coffee houses. The Austrian capital also produces excellent cuisine, with Wiener schnitzel and Sachertorte worth trying.
3 Bratislava 04:00 18:00
Bratislava, the youngest capital in Europe, is situated exactly at the point where the country meets Austria and Hungary. This makes it the only capital city in the world that borders more than one neighbouring country. Due to its location, Bratislava has been an ethnic melting pot since ancient times. Cultures meet and merge together. The streets of the old town – lined with well-preserved baroque and rococo city palaces – are filled with the sound of people speaking different languages.
4 Wachau - -

4 Melk 12:30 19:00
"Gateway to the Wachau": Step into the UNESCO World Heritage Site and admire the Danube valley from above. The town of Melk with its impressive Benedictine monastery sits majestically enthroned on a hill and offers you a breathtaking view. A perfect blend between city and nature.
5 Linz 05:00 19:30
Your Danube cruise is the perfect opportunity to get to know the Austrian city of Linz. It offers an exciting mix of cultural attractions and true works of art. You’ll discover a modern, cosmopolitan city whose diversity, design and creativity really make it stand out. And no visit to Linz would be complete without a trip to a cafe to sample its specialities, such as the famous Linzer Torte.
