Embark on an unforgettable cruise along the Rhine and Moselle. You’ll start at the famous Cologne Cathedral and soon arrive in Amsterdam with its canals and multicultural atmosphere. Rotterdam will captivate you with its modern architecture and massive port, while Antwerp will charm you with its history as a diamond hub. The romantic Moselle Valley reveals the charm of Cochem and Bernkastel-Kues. In Trier, you’ll enjoy beautiful hiking, and in Koblenz, a cable car will take you up to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress with its magnificent view of the city. A unique blend of nature, history, and culture awaits you.

PREMIUM - Highlights of the North Rhine-Westphalia and Moselle Regions 2026 (SILVA)

All cruises are international, meaning that all materials—such as menus, shipboard announcements, etc.—are in English. Similarly, shore excursions are available with English-speaking guides, and the onboard staff speaks English (and usually German as well).

Rotterdam—the second-largest city in the Netherlands. Home to the continent’s largest seaport, this thriving metropolis spares no expense when it comes to modern architecture or charm. Over the past 20 years, a number of impressive new skyscrapers have sprung up here—and there is no sign that this trend is slowing down.

Cochem—although Cochem is Germany’s second-smallest district administrative center, it can look back on a long history, as evidenced by its majestic imperial castle and the ruins of Winneburg, each overlooking the town from its own small hill. Cochem is also home to the Pestkapelle (Plague Chapel) and the Kapelle zu den drei Kreuzen (Chapel of the Three Crosses). While these two places of worship are by no means huge, their understated elegance and beautiful location make them worth a visit.

The Rhine begins to get truly interesting in the Middle Rhine Valley and it’s no wonder, given that the Moselle pumps 315 m³ of water per second into the river at Koblenz. Then the cliffs close in, and the riverbed narrows by nearly two-thirds. Above, the legendary Lorelei has been impassively watching this natural drama since time immemorial

Itinerary

Day Place Arrival Departure
1 Cologne - 18:00
Welcome to Cologne! The typical friendliness that you find at every turn makes visitors feel at home right away. It’s not unusual to quickly get chatting to strangers and even go for a couple of glasses of Kölsch with them. The main landmark – Cologne Cathedral – watches over the whole city. It is the third-tallest church building in the world, at 157.38 metres. It might be a bit of a trek up to the top of the tower, but it’s worth it. You’ll be rewarded with an unforgettable view of the city and the Rhine spread out before you.
2 Cochem 11:00 17:00
Cochem, on the bank of the Moselle, is another port of call on your Rhine cruise, which will take you onto the Moselle. The entire Moselle region around Cochem is a real sight to behold. The town’s landmark is undoubtedly the famous Reichsburg, a splendid castle that towers above the river. But did you know that the West German government had a secret bunker built here for its federal bank? Strange, but true! And you’ll have the opportunity to visit it during your river cruise.
3 Trier-Mehring 09:00 23:59
Trier lies right in the Moselle valley, a region characterised by the typical Moselle vineyards. The city boasts many churches, castles and palaces, plus a wealth of historic monuments – with UNESCO World Heritage status. Enjoy your time in the city, explore the Moselle valley and learn about the history of Rhineland-Palatinate. And as another lovely day draws to a close, you can look forward to the next picturesque port of call.
4 Bernkastel-Kues 06:00 21:30
Experience the unforgettable atmosphere of a picturesque old town full of history and culture, as your Rhine cruise takes you along the Moselle. Enjoy award-winning wines from well-known sites – whether in one of the cosy wine bars, in a rustic wine tavern during a wine-tasting session with a winemaker, or during a tour of the steep vineyard slopes.
5 Koblenz 15:00 21:30
Koblenz is where you’ll find Roman history, a high-tech research hub and a buzzing cultural scene all in one place. Don’t miss the delightful Kaiserin-Augusta-Anlagen, the southern part of the Rhine promenade. It was turned into a landscaped park with artistic historical monuments and sculptures between 1856 and 1861. If you fancy a treat, try Debbekooche. Originally eaten by those who couldn’t afford goose on Saint Martin’s Day, it is now considered a regional speciality and is traditionally served with apple sauce. Delicious!
6 Nijmegen 14:00 22:00
Did you know that Nijmegen is the oldest city in the Netherlands? You only need to cross the Waalburg arch bridge into the centre to understand why the 160,000 inhabitants are so proud of their city: the Waalkade wharf and the silhouette of the city-centre buildings combine to form a truly impressive sight. In this Hanseatic city, tradition and modernity go hand in hand.
7 Amsterdam (Lelystad*) 06:00 23:30
Few European cities are as diverse as Amsterdam, with its multicultural charm, relaxed atmosphere, historic canal district and the highest concentration of museums in the world. Don’t miss the Van Gogh Museum or the Rijksmuseum, which was restored to its former glory several years ago following a decade-long renovation project. Follow the locals’ example and explore by bike or take a trip along the canals and discover Amsterdam from the water.  *In individual cases, the local authorities in Amsterdam may not confirm the reserved berths. If no berth is allocated, our guests will be provided with a shuttle bus to Amsterdam.
8 Rotterdam 08:00 16:00
Rotterdam is the second-largest city in the Netherlands, after Amsterdam. Known as ‘Manhattan on the Maas’, it has a more urban and international atmosphere than anywhere else in the whole country. Be prepared to be amazed by the fantastic skyline, featuring the the Erasmusbrug bridge. Rotterdam is home to Europe’s largest port, as well as being a major transport hub. It's no surprise that this is a centre of contemporary architecture, featuring the famoust Kijk-Kubus, and the Witte Huis, which was the first skyscraper in Europe. Several impressive new skyscrapers have sprung up over the past 20 years.
9 Emmerich 09:00 15:00
The small beautiful town of Emmerich on the lower Lower Rhine gives you a nice time out on land during your cruise. Here you can take a stroll along the promenade and enjoy the magnificent view of the Rhine while discovering the "Golden Gate Bridge of the Lower Rhine", a suspension bridge spanning over the Rhine, which, just like its role model, can be seen from afar in vibrant red. Definitely worth taking a souvenir photo!
