The Beurs voor Diamanthandel, the Belgian diamond exchange, has north-facing windows, as it is important to keep sunlight to a minimum when assessing the colour and clarity of the stones.
Antwerp - If you stop in Antwerp while cruising the Rhine, you'll quickly discover that this small Flemish port is no stranger to holiday splendor. In fact, glitter was practically invented here: this time-honoured trading town is a major diamond centre, where precious stones are polished until they sparkle like stars. Antwerp itself is also a gem - from the boat you'll have a spectacular view of its opulent houses with ornate stepped gables.
Amsterdam's treasures include its diverse range of museums, glittering canals and, above all, a relaxed multicultural society where every visitor instantly feels at home.
Duisburg is a true city on the water: the Rhine, the Rhine-Herne Canal and the world's largest inland port are waiting to be explored. When you dock here and look at the huge ships that plough the world's seas, you're bound to feel a little wanderlust yourself.
