Nijmegen - The Romans were aware of the Rhine’s ideal location as early as 2,000 years ago, when they founded the oldest city in the Netherlands. Today, the cityscape of this Hanseatic city is characterized not only by historical monuments from that era but also by its many students. You can also experience Nijmegen’s vibrancy at one of its many city beaches in a unique setting.
Gorinchem - From the Grote Toren, the city tower visible from afar, you’ll enjoy a great view. The lively market square invites you to take a stroll and watch the hustle and bustle of the fortified city. A special feature of Gorinchem is that the entire city center is still surrounded by fortress walls. One of the city gates has been preserved and can be easily crossed on foot. The fortress also includes two typical grain mills. Of course, you shouldn’t miss these during your vacation in the Netherlands. Gorinchem’s unique atmosphere, with its former fortifications, has captivated many visitors.
