The Eiffel Tower: a way of life or a work of art? We could spend hours debating what makes Paris so special. But everyone agrees on one thing: Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. And when you look at it from the water, it’s even more beautiful. The banks of the Seine, the numerous bridges across the river, and all the little stories told about them are incredibly romantic. The Seine, flowing slowly toward Normandy, seems to have adopted the Parisians’ laissez-faire approach to life. The landscape here—which was named after the “Men of the North,” the Vikings who landed here about 1,200 years ago—is incredibly beautiful. Blooming meadows and dense forests line the river as it flows toward Rouen, where Joan of Arc was burned at the stake. The wealth of artifacts documenting this city’s 2,000-year history is fascinating. It’s easy to see why Normandy has been depicted in so many works of art. You, too, will find yourself reaching for your camera more often than usual, whether you visit Claude Monet’s enchanting garden or the magnificent Château de Bizy, also known as “Little Versailles.” And wherever you go, culinary delights beckon. In France, cheese is revered. Try as much of it as you can and find out why.

PREMIUM - Panorama of the Seine River (VIVA)

All cruises are international, meaning that all materials—such as the menu, public announcements, etc.—are in English. Similarly, excursions are available with English-speaking guides, and the crew on board speaks English (and usually German as well).

Paris - you don’t just visit it; you soak up its atmosphere. Magnificent landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower, the Champs-Élysées, the Louvre, and the Arc de Triomphe will captivate you, and strolls at dusk through the Marais and Montmartre neighborhoods are sure to inspire you. It is a place where, as you tour the city’s magnificent landmarks, it feels as though time has stood still.

Le Havre—is where the Seine meets the sea—literally, because the area between Le Havre and Honfleur, on the other side of the Seine, is where you’ll find not only the Pont de Normandie but also the final stretch of the Seine before it flows into the English Channel. The modern city of Le Havre was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List for its completely renovated center, which was rebuilt after the war. One of the few surviving buildings is the Notre Dame Cathedral, which is a must-see.

Caudebec-en-Caux - Today, visitors to this small town are charmed by the restaurants and cafés along the river promenade, from where you can watch the boats on the Seine. The main attraction is the Church of Notre Dame, which showcases what medieval stonemasons were able to build from sandstone. You’ll find plenty of interesting excursion options here. Honfleur, an idyllic fishing village, boasts beautiful streets and a picturesque old harbor district that has remained virtually unchanged since the 17th century. Even back then, the Seine served as the lifeblood of France, fostering culture and education.

Carriage

Parking in Paris

AIR TRAVEL: For guests arriving in Paris by air, we can arrange a transfer from the airport to the port. The transfer fee is €39 per person per trip (this amount will be charged to your A-ROSA onboard account). Bus departure times are 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 3:00 p.m. We recommend booking the transfer as soon as possible, as space is limited.

ARRIVAL BY TRAIN: For guests traveling on an all-inclusive cruise who book their train through A-ROSA, the transfer from the train station to the port is free of charge. For all other guests, the transfer is subject to a fee; we will provide the exact price upon request.

ARRIVAL BY CAR: If you are traveling by car, you must have a "Crit'Air" sticker on your vehicle to enter Paris’s “low-emission” zone. You can purchase it here www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/en/demande for €5.60. For more detailed information, visit www.certificat-air.gouv.fr/en.

Parking in Paris: We recommend parking at Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle Airport, Terminal 2. You can reserve parking at www.parisaeroport.fr. Click on “Parking,” “Parking Paris-CDG,” “Réserver,” and finally “Parking Vacances.” A form will then appear, and after filling it out, you will see specific price quotes. The transfer is the same as for air travel.

In all three cases, we recommend using taxi services. Taxis are available both in front of the airport building and the train station, and prices are approximately €1.50/km. Some taxi services offer the option to book a ride in advance, so you’ll know the exact price and avoid any potential waiting time.
